ME, THIS, IN A NUTSHELL:

I am 31 years old. I am Austrian. I am a graphic designer. On maternity leave. I am a hobby photographer. I am married. To a Mexican. I am a blogger. I have been blogging – unpopularly so – in several incarnations and about several topics since 2000, with only brief interruptions.

I am also a Mother: in October 2006 I have lost our first baby in my 6th week of pregnancy. In October 2007 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. In May 2009 we have decided to complete our family and try for another baby. In September I got pregnant again. Our baby boy was born in late May 2010. Here’s how it all goes.

PROTAGONISTS:

La Nena: our beautiful daughter, born on October 26th, 2007: Austria’s National Holiday.

Wurmi/Chiquito: our beloved son, born on May 27th, 2010.

Geo: my husband since 2006... co-graphic designer, and very promising artist.

Tati: my sister, “mother” to the smallest dog in existence, probably all I will ever be an “aunt” to. Also: ex-wife of Geo’s best friend – AY, the soap opera!

Tio: Geo’s best friend, my band mate from a lifetime ago, currently my ex-brother-in-law. Our love is tough, but at least it comes from the heart. Also: Chiquito’s “Godfather”-to-be.

Mom: my mother... best grandma my daughter could ever ask for.

Dad: my father... taking the title of “grandfather” to a whole new level!

Oma: my paternal grandmother... one of THE most important and dearly loved people in my life... best grandmommy in the world. Unfortunately she passed away on September 19th, 2009 from stomach cancer, after only 3 months since her diagnosis. I still cannot wrap my mind around a life without her in it.

Opa: my paternal grandfather... love him dearly!

MIL/Abuela: my mother-in-law. Currently residing in Los Angeles.

FIL/Abuelo: my father-in-law. Residing in México.

Tio#U, Tio#F, Tia#T, Tio#R: Geo’s much-younger-than-him siblings. Situated in México.

Goli K: one of my oldest friends, La Nena’s “Godmother” for the lack of a better term.

Bern, Bee & Baby B: my favorite cousin, his wife and the cousin that they have provided La Nena with.

Miss A, Mr. C & Lee: made friends with them on the internet while I was pregnant with La Nena; their little daughter is only 11 days older than La Nena – I have the incredible honor of being Godmother to Lee! They are expecting a baby boy in November!

Git, Bo, Liz & Liv: our neighbors, awesome couple and great friends! Their daughter Liz is only 5 months older than La Nena – and their newest addition, Liv, will also be 5 months older than our Wurmi!

Trish, Dr. Phil & Lou: Git’s best friend, her husband and daughter, who’s the same age as Liz. I get along with her greatly, too. They are expecting another baby girl in December!
